Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners

'Radio has been chosen as the vehicle to carry positive messaging to Ugandan communities every day. And so, on January 2004, Dunamis FM 103 signed on as a Christian voice for Kampala and surrounding districts. Immediately, calls poured in from every direction as Christian music covered 1.5 million people under the Dunamis banner. More stations are planned and await necessary funding.'

Uganda Trip 2003

Introduction

It was the beginning of 2003 that it was first mentioned as a possible fact finding mission by Roger Grassham of the River Church. We held the possibility lightly, but what an opportunity to see community transformation first hand! We had seen as a church the Transformation II video outlining what God has been doing, don't we all wonder what it is really like in other lands, wouldn't you like to go and see what God is doing elsewhere, NOT to copy it but to learn the lessons and apply them to where we are.

Well a few weeks later I was approached by a guy from the church who said he and another brother had been praying and felt God say we would be off to Uganda! We had said nothing of the opportunity. Well Father was working His purpose.

Brian Gregory, took the opportunity to go with Roger Grassham and the organiser Isaiah Mbugo. The itinery for the week was as follows:

Isaiah, and his wife Deborah, are here in Britain studying for Masters degrees in Special Needs Teaching and International Media Studies.

The purpose of the visit: to get a first look at what is happening there and to examine what links we can forge with the churches out there.

Outline of Itinery

What next?

We believe this is a divine appointment, and are seeking the Lord to develop what He will from this contact.

It is interesting what is happening to us as church as a result of this visit, we are not the same people, there has been an acceleration in what God is doing in our midst. The sense of mission has increased, we are growing in ways we have sought for over the years. GOD IS GOOD.
