Rebuild, Restore, Renew During our time together as church we have come back to the passage from Isaiah 61 many times. The most significant part of the passage for us has lead to this three-word sequence, REBUILD, RESTORE RENEW which is taken from verse 4. I believe strongly that this is a word to our church but also to THE church about what Father is doing at this time. There will be material to follow but just read the passage for yourself and ponder.
Ponder these in your heart, allow Father to speak to you about how He is shaping your days now and for the future. Crossing the threshold [Year 2003] Philippians 3 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. 15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained. 17 Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you. 18 For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. 4:1 Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you should stand firm in the Lord, dear friends! This is His time to cross a new threshold, to close the door behind and press forward towards the goal. There is real power in understanding these words: ' I press on to take hold of that FOR WHICH Christ Jesus took hold of me.' He took hold of me for a purpose, I now choose to take hold of that same purpose and strain towards its completion, the goal of my existence in Christ. Its not just that He took hold of me, but that he did it for a reason, if I can see that same reason, I will find fulfillment in my life, my family/relationships, my work, and my church/home life.
The Year of Jubilee [Year 2002] Much has been said of the Jubilee year. We pray God's richest blessing on the Royal family, in particular Queen Elizabeth. But, there is much to say spiritually about the jubilee year. If you take the time to read Leviticus chapters 25-27, you will see a time that was set aside to see the land restored to fruitfulness. Much is said in the church about this but I believe we need to be clear of Father's heart in this time. In a nutshell:
God is speaking about a time of restoration, to restore into rightful ownership, to see loved ones return to His kingdom is going to take some obedience to Him on our part and some careful instruction on how to see what has been sold into slavery and taken into 'enemy hands' brought back into HIS GLORIOUS OWNERSHIP. more to follow..... |
